Het colostrum niet meegeteld, bevat zeugenmelk in termen van droge stof ongeveer 40 % vet (zie figuur 1). Vetten zijn dus een erg belangrijke bron van energie voor biggen die zogen en zorgen er ook voor dat de dieren de vetten in zeugenmelk effici\u00ebnt verteren (\u2248 95 %). Ook in het speenvoer zijn vetten een belangrijke component, omdat ze de overgang van zeugenmelk naar vast voer vergemakkelijken. Daarom moet het vet niet alleen erg smakelijk, maar ook licht verteerbaar zijn om de prestaties van de biggen maximaal te stimuleren. Zwaar verteerbaar voer met een hoog vetgehalte leidt namelijk tot een verminderde voeropname en geeft indirect ook een groter risico op darmproblemen.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-image\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"columns\"><div class=\"column\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nuscience.eu\/globalassets\/agrifirm-group\/nuscience-en\/site-specific\/article_stimulating_digestibility1.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:383px;height:304px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figuur 1: Belangrijkste componenten van zeugenmelk (Zhang et al., 2018)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #3A261B\" class=\"text-color\">Vertering van vetten<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Na de voeropname komen de vetten via de maag in de dunne darm terecht. Voor de waterige, polaire inhoud van de dunne darm deze apolaire vetten kan opnemen, moeten ze eerst een natuurlijke emulsie ondergaan. De <strong>galzouten <\/strong>die de lever produceert en in de dunne darm worden uitgescheiden, zorgen hiervoor. Galzouten bestaan uit galzuur geconjugeerd met glycine of taurine en breken de vetten af in kleinere deeltjes. Zo maken ze het totale contactoppervlak voor de verteringsenzymen groter (zie figuur).<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Vervolgens worden de vetdeeltjes (triglyceriden) afgebroken tot monoglyceriden en vrije vetzuren door het enzym lipase, dat in de pancreas wordt geproduceerd. Daarna worden de verschillende vetbestanddelen omgeven door galzouten en monoglyceriden om micellen te vormen. De inhoud van deze micellen kan worden geabsorbeerd door de darmvilli in de dunne darm.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>De doeltreffendheid van deze vetvertering hangt af van verschillende factoren zoals<strong> de vetzuursamenstelling, de kwaliteit van de vetbronnen en de leeftijd van het dier.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-image\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"columns\"><div class=\"column\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nuscience.eu\/globalassets\/agrifirm-group\/nuscience-en\/site-specific\/article_stimulating_digestibility2.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:394px;height:264px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figuur: Afbraak van vetten in kleinere vetdeeltjes door de galzouten<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #3A261B\" class=\"text-color\">Factoren die de verteerbaarheid be\u00efnvloeden<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-heading\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #3A261B\" class=\"text-color\">Vetzuursamenstelling<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>De gebruikte vetbron heeft bij biggen een duidelijk effect op de verteerbaarheid (zie tabel). Bovendien is dit effect groter bij jongere dieren. De effici\u00ebntie van de vetvertering hangt af van twee dingen: de ketenlengte van de vetzuren en de verhouding tussen onverzadigde en verzadigde vetzuren. Korte- en middellangeketenvetzuren zijn veel lichter verteerbaar en worden beter opgenomen dan langeketenvetzuren. Kokosvet, bijvoorbeeld, is rijk aan middellangeketenvetzuren. Daarom verteren vooral jonge biggen het beter dan andere vetten. Ook onverzadigde vetzuren verteren ze gemakkelijker, omdat die beter in micellen kunnen worden omgezet dan verzadigde vetten. De reden is dat er meer galzouten nodig zijn om vrije vetzuren in micellen op te nemen dan bij monoglyceriden. Geoxideerde vetten be\u00efnvloeden de verteerbaarheid ook negatief. Goede vetten bevatten minder dan 5-10 % vrije vetzuren, weinig radicalen en worden niet ranzig. Daarom is het raadzaam vetten te analyseren op ranzigheid door het peroxidegehalte, de vrije vetzuren, de p-anisidinewaarde \u2026 te meten.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-heading\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #3A261B\" class=\"text-color\">Leeftijd van het dier<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Tijdens het spenen is het maagdarmkanaal van de biggen nog niet volledig ontwikkeld. In dat levensstadium is het niveau van de galzoutproductie erg laag en zijn er onvoldoende galzouten aanwezig om de aangevoerde vetten te emulgeren en om te zetten in micellen. Daardoor worden niet alle vetten in de dunne darm verteerd. Vooral bij biggen die jong gespeend zijn, is de vetvertering nog laag (tabel).<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #DBB154\" class=\"text-color\">Conclusie<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"section section--gutenberg section--gutenberg-nomargin wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Vetten leveren een aanzienlijk deel van de beschikbare energie in biggenvoer. Daarom is het belangrijk om de vetvertering optimaal te stimuleren. Om die reden verrijkt Earlyfeed de prestarters van <a href=\"https:\/\/www.earlyfeednutrition.com\/nl\/what-we-offer\/\">Babi<\/a> en de concentraten van <a href=\"https:\/\/www.earlyfeednutrition.com\/nl\/what-we-offer\/vitastart\/\">Vitastart<\/a> met kokosvet.
